to health and safety. It is also necessary requirement for
insurancepurposes.
There are four specific acts and regulations
that are relevant to electrical maintenance; these are the
Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, the Electricity
at Work Regulations 1989, the Workplace Regulations
1992 and the Provision and Use of Work Equipment
Regulations 1998.
The Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 place
a legal responsibility on employers, employees and self-employed
persons to comply with the provisions of the regulations and
take reasonably practicable steps to ensure that no danger
results from the use of such equipment.
Is PAT testing disruptive?
UKSM PAT testers
work swiftly and efficiently to minimise any isruption in
the workplace by only disconnecting items as they are tested.
Does PAT Testing affect insurance
cover?
Insurance companies assume when giving cover
that there is compliance with all necessary regulations. An
insurance company may reduce, delay or even refuse to pay
a claim for damage if an appliance that has not been tested
is the cause. |
